Bionic Rooster
@Matt You mentioned in the introduction Quote Squarespace and WordPress. More integrations for popular platforms are planned over the coming months. were included and more integrations were coming. I was just wondering how these others are fairing as I'm not seeing any submissions from them yet. And what are the other platforms you are considering? Charles
Wordpress is not fairing at all yet because wordpress.org is taking foreeeeeverrrrr to approve accounts. Squarespace is online but we have not yet started external promotions about that. It was more a proof of concept to allow for integrations in platforms that do not have a "plugin" system. Community Hive will soon have a social media presence to promote communities on our platform, trending content, and such. Trending content we think is a big thing because when there is a news event out there, we can capture communities talking about it and direct people to them. We all know that private communities are way more pleasant than X or Facebook! Next on our list is Discourse. Open to suggestions on other platforms if you have ideas 🙂
Bionic Rooster
Maybe more about IPS forums. While following 'Community Hive' all I see is a lot of input about Xenforo.
Charles
Just now, Bionic Rooster said: Maybe more about IPS forums. While following 'Community Hive' all I see is a lot of input about Xenforo. As we are more familiar with Invision Community, there have been fewer implementation issues with it. We're working on getting Xenforo's plugin more stable. So mostly we have (unfortunately 😞 ) been seeing a lot of posts about Xenforo here as those community managers have been having the the most issues getting activated. Of course many have had no issues too. Never know with new platform dev! Invision Community's integration with Community Hive was officially released yesterday in the latest release. Since then, we have seen dozens signup (mostly) without issue. As we get more communities on Community Hive, we are working on improving discovery and promotion. Community Hive has two goals: keep your current members engaged and get you new members.

If you have not installed the add-on yet... be aware it "registers" apparently under your User #1 account... so if you (like me) have set up a separate actual user account for normal admin/everyday use... you will only find your CH account under the email registered for User #1 in your XF user accounts. Once I figured that out, I was able to get the site set up... it's under review right now tagged with astronomy & astrophotography.

A certain XF developer has been waiting for several months while one of his WordPress add-ons is in the "approval queue". At the rate they are going... he'll probably have refactored it a few times before they get it approved. Edited September 9 by Tracy 1

I can't say I frequent too many forums, but discourse is popular on a few.
